Here a few Virginia (and national) news headlines, political and otherwise, for Friday, October 19. Note that in Nate Silver's 538 model, President Obama ticked up 4.7 points, to a 70.4% chance of winning the election, with Virginia flipping back to light blue. Let's keep this momentum going for 2 1/2 more weeks (e.g., if you're going to volunteer in some way, this weekend would be a great time)!
P.S. Also see Eugene Robinson's Why the chill on climate change?, in which he correctly notes, "Not a word has been said in the presidential debates about what may be the most urgent and consequential issue in the world: climate change."
The purpose of Blue Virginia is to cover Virginia politics from a progressive and Democratic perspective. This is a group blog and a community blog. We invite everyone to comment here, but please be aware that profanity, personal attacks, bigotry, insults, rudeness, frequent unsupported or off-point statements, and "trolling" (NOTE: that includes outright lies, whether about climate science, or what other people said, or whatever) are not permitted and, if continued, will lead to banning. For more on trolling, see the Daily Kos FAQs.
