Here are a few Virginia news headlines for Monday, April 16. Also, check out the photo, courtesy of Clifford's Photography, from yesterday's opening of the Arlington Obama for President field office (full coverage in my diary below).
P.S. I didn't see any of the "lesser media" (as Arlington's resident right-wing hack and real estate rag "editor" - using the word very loosely! - likes to say) there yesterday for the Obama campaign HQ opening. I mean, hey, why would you want to cover something of significance when you can instead blather mindlessly about your precious "Mr. Miata" or how you really really really looooove rice (seriously, that's the crap this guy writes about on a daily basis, and yes, you'd think he'd be embarrassed), or reminisce about when you closed on your "Casa" 11 years ago. With "writing" and "reporting" (again, using the words very loosely) like that, no wonder why the dead-tree media is dying.
UPDATE: The Patch apparently also was at the Arlington Obama HQ opening yesterday, as they interviewed Terry McAuliffe, who said, "Right after the November election, we'll have something to say."
The purpose of Blue Virginia is to cover Virginia politics from a progressive and Democratic perspective. This is a group blog and a community blog. We invite everyone to comment here, but please be aware that profanity, personal attacks, bigotry, insults, rudeness, frequent unsupported or off-point statements, "trolling" (NOTE: that includes outright lies, whether about climate science, or what other people said, or whatever), and "troll ratings abuse" (e.g., "troll" rating someone simply because you disagree with their argument) are not permitted and, if continued, will lead to banning. For more on trolling, see the Daily Kos FAQs. Also note that diaries may be deleted if they do not contain at least 2 solid paragraphs of original text; if not, please use the comments section of a relevant diary.
