Videos: Virginia Democrats Read Passages from Ken Kookinelli's Crazy New Book

by: lowkell

Tue Feb 12, 2013 at 11:48:33 AM EST

The following video is from a press conference held a few minutes ago in the Virginia Capitol, with Democratic legislators reading some of the craziest passages from Ken Kookinelli's new book, "The Last Line of Defense." I've only read the portions that are available on Amazon.com, etc., plus what's been reported in the newspapers, but let's just put it this way: it confirms everything we ever thought about this extremist nutjob. Anyway, enjoy the videos (several more on the "flip")!

Video: News Channel 8 on Dems Reading Cuccinelli Book (0.00 / 0)

what a disappointing segment that 3+ minutes on channel 8 is (0.00 / 0)
Lots and lots of words in three minutes, but almost nothing of substance said about what's actually in the book that would make the Democrats so "gleeful."

A glancing mention of Cuccinneli's opposition to public recreation centers-- that's it!

A missed opportunity by the media --surprise, surprise!-- to educate the public about that "sick and broken spirit" behind these Republicans.

People should be helped to ponder:  is America supposed to be all about the private sector, and with no idea of investing together in the public good?

Should we close public libraries, because they compete with privately owned bookstores.

Eliminate public roads, and return to the age of privately owned, for-profit turnpikes?

Instead, it's all about the competition of political forces, with almost zero illumination of the visions of society that are battling against each other.

Agreed, that was mindless... (0.00 / 0)
...as is almost always the case with the corporate media. Sad, really. But I guess the question is, why do people keep consuming superficial, mindless blather like this?

That sucks (0.00 / 0)
that they bought a copy.

I don't think I'll buy a copy.  I went crazy at Target last week and bought 4 of the giant 24-packs of triple-roll Charmin, so I'm all stocked up on toilet paper for about a year.  So, no need for Cooch's manifesto.

Think of it as a smart investment in Virginia's future... (0.00 / 0)
...one WITHOUT a lunatic like Kookinelli as governor! :)

If you need a book (0.00 / 0)
to determine that Cooch is batshit crazy, then you haven't been paying attention to state politics for the last 10 years.

I think you're missing the point. (0.00 / 0)
This is a huge gift to Virginia Democrats, and really to all the people of Virginia, by Ken Cuccinelli. Having said that, I wouldn't buy this thing if it were the last book on earth, I were stranded on a desert island with nothing else to read, etc. Just the excerpts I've read on Amazon indicate that, in addition to being an extremist/Bircher nutjob, this guy is just a horrible, leaden, godawful writer. I guess if you need a cure for insomnia...

Listen to this interview and what you'll hear is a guy who's (0.00 / 0)
shrill, over the top, paranoid, wildly exaggerating (or must making stuff up/pulling it out of his hindquarters), delusional, and egregiously misinformed (and/or blatantly lying). And that's just for starters...I could come up with many more negative adjectives to describe this loon's warped mindset. Somewhere in this hodgepodge of hysteria there MUST be a kernel of truth, but if it's there, I sure can't find it. Anyone else?

Cooch also says T-Mac pulled a "bait and switch" (0.00 / 0)
on locating his car company in Mississippi. Of course, this contradicts Cuckoo's supposed "free market"/capitalist beliefs; shouldn't a private sector company be able to go wherever the heck it wants?

P.S. And what is this "federal regulatory onslaught" of which he speaks? Totally nonexistent, but he loves spewing this garbage...
