The Stench
Find out how Ken Cuccinelli's not just a tinfoil-hat, John Birch Society-style, extremist wackjob, he's also corrupt, in the The Continuing Chronicle of Ken Cuccinelli's Corruption. It really stinks!

Virginia News Headlines: Tuesday Morning

by: lowkell

Tue Sep 18, 2012 at 07:02:37 AM EDT

Here are a few Virginia news headlines, political and otherwise, for Tuesday, September 18. Also, check out the video of Romney walking out on a question about whether he believed all the stuff he said in the infamous videos. Of course, Romney DOES believe them, which is why he said all that stuff, but he can't admit it in public, I guess, even though that makes him look even more like a shifty, pathological liar than he already is. Oh, it's tough to be Willard! LOL

*Errors hurting Romney effort, some in GOP say (You mean like the worst campaign, and worst candidate, ever?)
*SECRET VIDEO: Romney Tells Millionaire Donors What He REALLY Thinks of Obama Voters
*Romney "47 Percent" Fundraiser Host: Hedge Fund Manager Who Likes Sex Parties
*Thurston Howell Romney
*Romney trashes the 47 percent
*In video, Romney disdains
a 'dependent' 47 percent
(That's right, Willard wrote off half of America, ironically the half that is LESS dependent on federal largesse - by far! - than "red" America, which contains overwhelmingly "net recipient" states, while "blue" America consists overwhelmingly of "net donors." I know, those darn facts again...)
*Tim Kaine taps Mark Warner as surrogate in tight Va. race
*Kaine, Warner speak in Norfolk
*Allen, Kaine spar in Northern Virginia over threatened defense cuts
*Kaine will 'get stuff done,' Warner says in Norfolk stop
*Ryan adds event Wednesday in Danville (Crazy Lyin' Ryan's coming to down, hoo-boy!)
*Va. Democrats to pick 2013 slate in primary
*Kaine, Allen emphasize work across aisle (In Allen's case, WHAT work across the aisle?!?)
*The politics of uranium mining
*Congressional Candidate John Douglass Speaks in Danville
*Candidate stands ground on Goodlatte statements on welfare reform
*Norfolk's Alexander sworn into Va. Senate
*Clinton pal McAuliffe readies Va. gubernatorial bid
*Fairfax agrees to throw out sign rule
*Editorial: The right to a beard ("Virginia's prison grooming policy shaved religious rights.")
*A poor plan for road work
*VDOT suspends weekend bridge work to develop better plan
*Severe storms possible in afternoon
*Skins lose Carriker, Orakpo for season (Wait 'til next year?)

...also false dichotomies, red herrings, you name it. What a jerk.

Video: Romney Trashes Palestinians, Peace Efforts (0.00 / 0)

See Mother Jones for more, including this gem (wow, what a leader Willard is!):
Romney was indicating he did not believe in the peace process and, as president, would aim to postpone significant action: "[S]o what you do is, you say, you move things along the best way you can. You hope for some degree of stability, but you recognize that this is going to remain an unsolved problem...and we kick the ball down the field and hope that ultimately, somehow, something will happen and resolve it."

Romney's to the right of Netanyahu on this one (0.00 / 0)
See here, for instance:
Appearing before Jewish leaders in New York a day after he met with President Obama, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu repeated  what he has rarely mentioned in more than a year - his commitment to a two-state solution, a pledge he first made in June 2009.

In his Wednesday evening address the Israeli leader also made an off-the-cuff remark about Jerusalem that may have suggested a greater flexibility on his part than many have assumed. But his speech included not a word about Jewish settlements on the West Bank, a key sticking point between the Israelis and Palestinians, as well as a source of tension in recent months between Jerusalem and Washington.

Romney also FAR to the right of George W. Bush on this one (0.00 / 0)
See here:
Bush: Two-state solution will be realized
US president sums up eight years of Mideast affairs with optimism: 'Israelis, Palestinians, and Arabs recognize creation of peaceful, democratic Palestinian state is in their interests' though Iran, Syria still sponsoring terror, he says

Romney's to the Wrong of Netanyahu (0.00 / 0)
And just about everyone else in the 21st century. There is no evidence he's read a newspaper since 1967.

It is an insult to those on the right who do not fall sway to popular sentiment and pop-economics to include Mitt among them.

Though I may be defending an extinct wing that is now an artifact of the Republican Party, suffocated by the Southern Strategy.

Video: Romney and Iran's nuclear program (0.00 / 0)

David Corn of Mother Jones comments:
Romney didn't appear to understand that a dirty bomb-an explosive device that spreads radioactive substances-does not require fissile material from a nuclear weapons program. Such a bomb can be produced with, say, radioactive medical waste. If Iran's nuclear program poses a threat, it is not because this project will yield a dirty bomb.

Video: Paul Ryan continues to insult his own voters, who are the most dependent (0.00 / 0)
on federal largesse ("red" states and regions are huge net recipients from the "blue" states and regions; "blue" states and regions are big-time net donors to the "red" states and regions). Now, if only those Willard-LyinRyan voters would realize it!
