ProgressVA Condemns Va Board of Health Decision to Bow to Cuccinelli and McDonnell's Bullying

they are ruthless in forcing their agenda, apparently believing (correctly) that sheer bullying will achieve their objective and, once achieved, everyone else will adjust and submit, and it becomes a fait accompli now set in cement. That's what happened in Wisconsin with the labor unions, in Michigan with taking over financially strapped towns, and so on.

Over and over, including nationally under GW Bush, they do as they damned well please, whether or not it's legal or constitutional, and then they sit on their victory and defy anyone to stop them. It's salami tactics: a little bit here, another slice there, then another outrage over yonder, and first thing you know, the whole landscape has changed. Our civil liberties and self-government become a distant memory, and you realize it all happened right before your eyes, too late. That's also how they suppress the vote, jimmy the electronic voting machines, and lie, cheat and steal elections. I will say they are clever at it, you never know just what little issue they'll pick on next, it's like a dike with sudden leaks here, there, everywhere, and you are frantically trying to plug the leaks. My fear is, once they have seized power, they will be darned hard to get rid of because they control the election machinery.

And Virginia citizens, beware . . .

If, fearful that the 2013 General Assembly session is their last stand before the 2013 state races, then Teapublicans will be going after everything they can.  We already know that Bobby Mac has no control and who knows what candidate Bolling will do on tiebreakers.  Some say, could the 2013 session be any worse than 2012 - I say yes.

These unnecessary regulations are a very clear attempt to infringe upon women's constitutionally protected right to make their own health care decisions. The continued focus on limiting women's access to health care is unacceptable. Our country is already too divided and our economic recovery is still not as strong as it needs to be. Our leaders should focus on growing the economy, fixing the budget and finding common ground instead of making decisions that women should be able to make for themselves. These divisive issues are wrong for Virginia, they're wrong for women, and they're bad for business.

Fight them on every front (4.00 / 1)

Send them a message in the next 2 months by hitting the streets to deliver VA for Obama, Kaine and our Congressional candidates.

Arrange a mountain of comments once the 60-day comment period for the rules starts.

Prepare to mount the legal challenge when Cuccinelli ignores our comments.

Launch a well-planned series of protests, even civil disobedience, to keep this in the public eye.

And get ready to fight to prevent the horrendous threat of Governor Cuccinelli by mobilizing Democrats, progressives, women, independents to oppose him and support our candidate for governor in 2013.

We cannot and will not let them take Virginia back to the Dark Ages.
