The Stench
Find out how Ken Cuccinelli's not just a tinfoil-hat, John Birch Society-style, extremist wackjob, he's also corrupt, in the The Continuing Chronicle of Ken Cuccinelli's Corruption. It really stinks!

Virginia News Headlines: Thursday Morning

Here are a few Virginia news headlines, political and otherwise, for Thursday, August 23.

*In Poll, Obama Is Given Trust Over Medicare ("Mr. Obama is ahead in Florida by 49 percent to 46 percent and in Wisconsin by 49 percent to 47 percent - differences within the polls' margin of sampling error of plus or minus three percentage points. Mr. Obama retains a six-point advantage in Ohio, where he leads Mr. Romney 50 percent to 44 percent, unchanged from last month's survey.")
*A Tale Of Two Ads: How Karl Rove's Latest Attacks On Tim Kaine Totally Contradict Each Other (Of course, Rove et al don't in the least bit care about being truthful, nor do TV stations apparently care that they're running demonstrably false statements on the public airwaves. Which leaves it up to the public to punish the ones doing this - the Republicans and their allies, that is - come November.)
*Ryan hammers on Obama economy ("At a Roanoke County hardware store, Paul Ryan pounded out the GOP ticket's economic plans." Speaking of Big Lies...)
*In Roanoke, Ryan slams Obama over 'You didn't build that' (This is blatantly false, that is NOT what Obama was talking about and Ryan knows it. Disgusting.)
*Obama to campaign in Charlottesville Wednesday
*Jeff's Notes: Virginia's presidential turnstile
*New Obama ad in Va., other key states features Bill Clinton
*Recession imminent if 'fiscal cliff' not averted, CBO says (Once again, thanks a lot Republicans, this time for holding the country's economy hostage!)
*Virginia election officials prepare for new voter ID law
*A year after earthquake, the shocks linger in Virginia town
*Silver lining despite MWAA board ("The airports authority has an effective professional staff but a problem-plagued board of directors.")
*Editorial: Prepare to widen Interstate 81 ("No one knows when there will be money, but an environmental study will have the highway ready for work.")
*Rebuilding trust in Chesapeake a challenge for interim city manager
*Editorial: Roanoke hits carbon diet plateau ("Roanoke's carbon footprint took a baby step in the wrong direction. Shrinking it requires mindfulness")
*Nationals should help fans get home
*Medlin's arm stops the bleeding
