The Stench
Find out how Ken Cuccinelli's not just a tinfoil-hat, John Birch Society-style, extremist wackjob, he's also corrupt, in the The Continuing Chronicle of Ken Cuccinelli's Corruption. It really stinks!

Virginia News Headlines: Wednesday Morning

Here are a few Virginia news headlines, political and otherwise, for Wednesday, August 22. Also, check out the Obama campaign's new ad, "Children," which highlights the clear choice for voters between Mitt Romney and President Obama's vision for public education. The ad will be running in Virginia and Ohio.

*Romney's tax tease ("Just how would he close loopholes?" Uhhhhhh.)
*Abortion comments give Democrats a political window
*Signs of divine intervention for Republicans? ("Has God forsaken the Republican Party? Well, sit in judgment of what's happened in the past few days.")
*Obama continues to lead in Virginia ("PPP's newest poll of Virginia finds Barack Obama leading by 5 points, 50-45." The lead increases to 8 points with Virgil Goode on the ballot.)
*Republican platform 'salutes' Va. abortion law (Wonderful, fine work by "Transvaginal Bob" and his Grand Old "War on Women" Party!)
*Kaine addressing one convention, Allen skipping other (George Allen can run, but he can't hide from the extreme, divisive, anti-women, anti-middle-class, anti-GLBT, anti-environment, anti-science, etc. views of his party.)
*Tim Kaine goes positive in first Senate campaign ad
*U.S. Chamber of Commerce says Tim Kaine supported higher energy costs for families ("There is an element of truth and a great deal of hyperbole in the chamber's claim that Kaine supported higher energy bills for families. We rate it Mostly False.")
*Kaine ads focus on female voters
*Schapiro: Akin creates minefield for Virginia politicians ("McDonnell, while consistent in his opposition to abortion, is running out of fig leaves to hide behind on a matter on which voters - younger and more progressive on social issues - expect a clear view.")
*George Allen denounces
 Akin's comments
on pregnancy, rape (Gotta love it, the guy supports the same, draconian, extremist anti-choice policies as Akin, yet he "denounces" Akin because he's scared of the political blowback. Plus, Allen should know about making obnoxious, offensive comments, on a multitude of subjects, over the years!)
*Retiring Virginia Sen. Webb: Healthcare bill 'great regret' (Can anyone explain, in plain English, what Jim Webb is saying here? He lost me.)
*UVa president hopeful for the future
*Cantor faces Powell in Sept. 28 debate
*Paul Ryan to make stop in Roanoke County today (Remember, this guy wants to turn Medicare into a "voucher" system, also cosponsored extremist, draconian anti-choice/"personhood" legislation with Todd "Legitimate Rape" Akin. Hey reporters, how about you ask him about these things for a change?!?)
*In one of his final starts of season, Nats' Strasburg mows down Braves
