The Stench
Find out how Ken Cuccinelli's not just a tinfoil-hat, John Birch Society-style, extremist wackjob, he's also corrupt, in the The Continuing Chronicle of Ken Cuccinelli's Corruption. It really stinks!

Here are a few Virginia news headlines, political and otherwise, for Monday, June 18.

*Egypt's generals assert vast power as voting ends (So much for the "Arab Spring?" It sure looks that way in Egypt.)
*In Greece, pro-bailout party wins parliamentary elections (Stock markets should like this.)
*Romney: No need to detail how I'll pay for massive tax cuts. Just trust me.
*Pro-choice advocates face uphill climb in Virginia ("The permanent regulations, which the board approved 8-3 on Friday, still face review from the executive branch, including the offices of Gov. Bob McDonnell and Attorney General Kenneth T. Cuccinelli II.")
*U.Va. provost takes stand against Sullivan's ouster
*Sullivan's ouster as U-Va. president may hit school in the pocketbook (What a fiasco.)
*Provost John Simon's address to the Faculty Senate
*Uranium debate still fierce
*Va. GOP's revote for convention exposes rift ("Cuccinelli wing trumps Bolling's")
*The silence of the Republicans: The 2012 Virginia GOP Convention
*George Allen says he froze college tuition when he was governor
*Editorial: One delegate at a time ("Military arguments against a gay judicial nominee don't hold up." Also, here's the letter from Del. Rick Morris on why he changed his position regarding the Thorne-Begland nomination.)
*Bain Capital is Obama target but Kaine ally (Ah, politics, gotta love it...or not.)
*Editorial: Now deal with rising doublespeak ("Pretending rising sea levels are only recurrent flooding does not make it so.")
*Lights, camera, Norfolk State
*Nationals vs. Yankees: New York completes sweep as Ryan Zimmerman's slump deepens

Language Dragas Can Understand (0.00 / 0)
The Post story about two donors who have given almost a quarter of a billion dollars to UVa and are horrified by the way President Sullivan was fired just might get through to Dragas and the others who bungled the whole thing. Drying up money spigots like that speaks volumes.

We Can Always Privatize UVA and Build Highways (0.00 / 0)
This is worth much more than the ABC store deal.

Charlottesville can be the East Coast campus of the University of Phoenix and the Cavalier football team can play half its home games in that nice Arizona stadium.

Conspiracy Theories (0.00 / 0)
There are some who are wondering if all the brouhaha masks a desire by some on the board - and with the collusion of McDonnell's people - to open up the UVa brand to on-line courses financed by for-profit dudes who smell big bucks. Add to that the supposed desire by Dragas and some to get rid of many liberal arts courses of study and their portion of the faculty, and the conspiracy theories look plausible.
