Virginia News Headlines: Thursday Morning

by: lowkell

Thu May 03, 2012 at 06:14:57 AM EDT

Here are a few Virginia news headlines, political and otherwise, for Thursday, May 3. Also, gotta lope this video; even a Faux "News" host is dumbfounded by the insanity of Newt Gingrich, and by Willard's "creepy" statement about how he considers Newt - who he savaged with millions of dollars in attack ads - a "friend." It's beyond bizarre into Twilight Zone territory.

*Election could swing in swingy D.C. suburbs
*Mitt Romney, Newt Gingrich appear in Northern Virginia
*In Fairfax, Romney pledges to boost economy (One thing's for sure, Romney would NOT boost the economy as president. His entire plan is basically a return to Bush Economics, the same mess of tax cuts for the richest, crony capitalism, saber rattling, etc. that got us into this mess. No thanks!)
*At the front of the V.P. hunt (Yes, Willard, PLEASE put Governor "Trans-Vaginal Bob" on your ticket! LOL)
*Jeff's Notes: Which way will Virginia swing?
*Romney fundraiser draws Virginia dignitaries, raises $600,000
*Obama, Romney each have raised close to $1 million in Virginia this year
*Report: Virginia has lowly ranking when it comes to highway funding
*Virginia's $1B suit against N.Y. bank tossed out (Another #FAIL for Ken Kookinelli, apparently.)
*Bolling begins to campaign for governor
*Former opponent and Perriello voice support for Douglass in 5th
*Obama will speak to students in Arlington on Friday
*Mr. McDonnell faces a quandary with voter ID bill
*Michael Gardner, ex-chief of Falls Church Democrats, convicted of molesting 2 girls
*Sources: Bachmann likely to throw support for Romney in Portsmouth (She's as crazy as, or even crazier than, Herman Cain. Why would anyone WANT her endorsement?!?)
*North-south divide obvious in Roanoke mayoral election
*Rangers upend Caps in epic Game 3
